Pilot Devices

Operators and Pilot lights contacts are equipped with a wiping action for high reliability. Contact carriers are colour coded to indicate normally open and normally closed contacts. Both built in LEDs and Pilot Lights with Ba9 sockets are available. Operators are available with black plastic or chrome metal bezels. In addition to traditional operators ABB also offers a wide range of special functions such as Machine stops, Extreme duty pushbuttons, Potentiometers and Reset buttons.

Power Supplies

ABB's CP range offers newest technology in a compact construction of primary switch mode power supplies in the CP-D, CP-E, CP-T, CP-S and CP-C product ranges.

  • Output voltages 5-48V DC
  • Output current 0.625A-20A
  • Power range 10W-960W
  • Wide range input or auto select input
  • High efficiency
  • Open-circuit, overload and short-circuit stable
  • LED(s) for status indication available in most units

Softstarters

ABB Softstarters - compact, flexible, efficient, advanced. The PSR range is a far more compact starting solution than for instance a star delta starter. PSS softstarters both in line and inside delta connections making it a very flexible option with very easy setup in a robust solid state starting solution where many starts per hour are required. The PSE softstarter is the world's first compact softstarter with both built-in electronic overload for motor protection and torque control for an excellent control of pumps and a very efficient starting solution. The PST(B) softstarter is the most advanced softstarter in the range with almost all imaginable functionality included. All the advanced protections for the motor, the softstarter and the load ensure a trouble free operation. Pre-warnings even allow problems to be detected before the motor needs to be stopped and thereby avoiding unnecessary downtime.

Surge Protective Devices - TVSS

Lightning strikes create surge currents which generate overvoltages in the power distribution and data transmission networks. The OVR surge protective devices divert the surge current harmlessly to the ground and limit overvoltage to values compatible with the equipment connected to the network.

Starters

ABB offers the MS Manual Motor Starter and branch circuit motor protectors for group motor applications that provide motor protection and disconnect method in a fraction of the space required for traditional components. For Single Motors, ABB manual motor starters provide overload protection as required by Article 430 of the National Electrical Code. Control is provided by manual operation of the contacts; overload protection is provided by an adjustable bi-metallic trip mechanism.

Terminal Blocks

ABB terminal blocks include a variety of functions like feed-through, double deck, triple deck, ground, disconnect, fuse, sensor actuator, disconnect neutral adapted to all market connection technologies. ABB offers dedicated products such as Power blocks, Distribution blocks, Railway terminal blocks, Pluggable blocks, the ATEX range and other specific technologies.

Timers

Electronic time relays are specially adapted mechanical or solid state relays. They include a solid state or mechanical relay as well as an electronic timing circuit. This combination provides accurate timing control and isolation between the input and the load voltage, plus multiple switching contacts: 1 c/o (SPDT) or 2 c/o (SPDT). They are often used in OEM equipment, industrial and building applications, providing time-delayed switching for starting, control, regulation and protection. A large selection of timing functions, time delay ranges and adjustment options are available.
