SSAC Timers and Controls

TEPS is Power to Michigan with timers and controls by SSAC, an ISO 9001 registered company that designs and manufactures electronic controls for original equipment manufacturers, for process control and automation designers, obstruction lighting control designers, industrial customers and service contractors.

For more than 30 years, SSAC has achieved new levels of product, quality, and service. Its ISO 9001 Quality Management System monitors everything from the design process to purchasing, incoming material to shipment and customer service.

Standard Product Part Numbers

SSAC's Timers & Controls catalog has thousands and thousands of part number combinations. Only a few of the available part numbers are actually purchased on a frequent basis and are considered "Standard Product." Please download the Standard Product Part Number File to determine if your desired component is a Standard product. For products not listed in this file, a justification needs to be presented along with a volume commitment to cover the first-time costs of setting up the product. For those products only requiring a software change, the volume commitment may be as low as 25 pieces per year.

SSAC Controls Products Categories

Single-Phase Voltage Monitors

Protect sensitive equipment against undervoltage or brownout events. Features adjustable undervoltage trip point, encapsulated circuitry, UL recognized, CSA certified, CE mark. (HLV series pictured) See the HLV and KVM series of products.

3-Phase Reverse Phase Monitors

SSAC's PLS Series is a low-cost phase-sensitive control that protects sensitive 3-phase equipment and equipment operators from reverse rotation. Also offers protection for equipment control centers where frequent reconnection or electrical code makes reverse rotation protection essential. Designed to be compatible with motor overloads or other 3 phase equipment protection devices. Examples include: mobile refrigerated containers, construction equipment, hoists, pumps, conveyors, elevators and escalators. See the PLS series of products. Download PLS data sheet.

3-Phase Voltage Monitors

Protects against: phase loss; phase reversal; under, over and unbalanced voltages; over/under frequency. Available in Octal Plug-in, Surface Mount and Series DIN Rail Mount. (DLM series pictured)

AC Phase Control

AC phase control with the PHS Series is an ideal method of changing lamp intensity, varying the speed of a fan/motor, or controlling the temperature of a heater. The effective output voltage is adjusted with an accessory external potentiometer suitable for line voltage applications. 120 or 230VAC input voltages. See the PHS series of products. Download PHS data sheet.

Alternating Flashers

The AF Series offers a high inrush capacity of up to 200 A. These devices exceed mechanical type relays in both performance and lifespan. The AF Series is constructed with no moving parts to arc, wear, and eventually fail; 100 million operations are typical. Circuitry is encapsulated to provide protection against vibration and moisture, making the AF Series ideal for outdoor applications. For AC Voltages, see the AF series of products. Download AF series data sheet.

Alternating Relays

The ARP Series provides equal run time for two motors. A selector switch allows selection of alternation or either load for continuous operation. Download ARP data sheet. The KRPS Series is a factory programmed time delay relay available in any 1 of 13 functions. It measures only 2 inches square. The KRPS offers a wide range of fixed, onboard, or externally adjustable time delays. Encapsulation protects against shock, vibration, and humidity. The KRPS Series is a cost effective approach for OEM applications that require small size, isolation, accuracy, and long life. Special time ranges and functions are available. Download KRPS data sheet. See the ARP Series Motor Alternating or Duplexing Relay and the KRPS ProgramaCube® Compact Alternating Relay series of products.

Obstruction Lighting Controls

Complete systems for tower lighting, beacon flashers and more with features like solid state controls, alarm circuits, syncronous flashing and longer lamp life. Features: RF models for high RF installations, totally solid state and encapsulated circuitry, CSA certified. Available: units for synchronous flashing of additional beacons, photo controls for automatic operation of lighting circuit from dusk to dawn, sensors for failed flashing beacons or obstruction lamps. (FS series pictured) See the FS, FA, PCR, SCR, FB, SCR9L, FB9L series of products.

Current Sensors

Current sensors detect over or under current events like locked rotor, loss of load, an open heater or lamp load, or proves an operation is taking place or has ended. (ECS series pictured) For AC surface mount, see the ECS Series, ECSW Series, TCS Series, LCS10T12 products. Also offered are the DCSA and TCSA Series Loop Powered AC Current Transducers.

Flashers

Solid state flashers for lamp loads feature fixed, adjustable or custom flash rates, easy installation, high immunity to line noise and transients, reliability and long life: 100 million operations typical. Many mounting types and voltages available. (FS500 series pictured) See the FS500 Series and the FS100, FS400, FSU100 Series of products.

Liquid Level Controls

Offering single level controls, dual level controls, low-level cutoff features for all conductive liquids. (LLC2 pictured) See the LLC1 and LLC2 surface mount, LLC4 and LLC5 Octal plug-in, LLC6 and LLC8 low level cutoff series of products. Liquid Level Control Electrodes and other accessories are also available.

Sequencing Controls

Solid state, 3- or 4-channel chasers designed for sequential three- or four-circuit flashing of incandescent lamp loads. Unlike electromechanical chasers, there are no contacts to arc, wear, and eventually fail. Available: fixed or adjustable rates of 30 to 300 operations per minute for various loads and with various delays. See the SC3/SC4 and SQ series of products. Download SC3/SC4 data sheet.

Solid State Relays

Designed for industrial applications requiring rugged reliable operation. Available: random switching of inductive loads or zero voltage switching for resistive & incandescent loads, optically isolated or non-isolated, and solid state or latching relays. (SIR series pictured) See the SIR, SLR and NLF series of products.

Temperature Control

Solid-state temperature control offers a low cost modular approach to accurate temperature control. High power output is available in 6, 10, and 20 amperes and provides set point temperature control. Efficient metalized mounting surface allows for utilization of equipment as the heat sink. Designed for use with resistive loads. See the TCR Series for thermistor temperature control. Download TCR data sheet.

Timers

Timers for air conditioning, refrigeration, and heat pump equipment, vending systems and more. Features: fixed or adjustable delays; delay on make, delay on break, or delay on make/delay on break in the same unit; full range of input voltages; totally solid-state and encapsulated; most units UL Recognized, CSA Certified. TEPS offers turnkey solutions for power substations from a technology leader: ABB. Their consistent history of technology innovation positions them as the substation partner to rely on.

Utilities, municipalities and industrial plants throughout the U.S. depend on ABB for major substation expansions, retrofit or greenfield.

TEPS sources solution providers like ABB because they offer a turnkey system: the design, engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of the substation and full lifecycle support if needed.

For markets like windpower, ABB offers pre-engineered solutions for collector and interconnect substations. They can also provide economic and reliability analysis between various substation or transmission designs.

TEPS recommends ABB because their turnkey substation will provide the lowest total cost, the shortest schedule and the lowest risk. See more at ABB.com >
