TEPS recommends the SorbWeb™ Plus Secondary Spill Oil Containment System for leak prevention and catastrophic leak protection. Albarrie, maker of the SorbWeb Plus system, has demonstrated its effectiveness in real-world installations across North America. TEPS. Power to Michigan.

SorbWeb™ Plus Catastrophic Oil Spill and Leak Prevention

The SorbWeb Plus Secondary Spill Oil Containment (SOC) system is designed for the containment of hydrocarbons. The system allows water to flow through but contain any oils, edible or not.

With costs for soil remediation increasing, current industrial alternatives remain cost prohibitive or fail to provide adequate protection. SorbWeb Plus passive oil spill containment technology lets you manage oil spill risk efficiently with lower capital outlays while virtually eliminating maintenance costs.

SorbWeb Plus is an effective and reliable passive system that provides continuous protection against oil spills and leaks associated with transformers, capacitors, storage tank facilities and other oil-filled equipment.

The system seals only when coming in contact with oil in the containment area. Until the system seals, it will allow water from rain or snowmelt to pass through its "smart" barrier layers without accumulating, while retaining any oil that might leak from the transformer.

SorbWeb Plus SOC Benefits

  • Engineered containment system using electrical utility best practices to contain rainfall event, deluge and transformer oil volume
  • Unique flexible design to fit equipment arrangement
  • Minimum site intrusion / disturbance required for installation
  • Passive secondary oil containment and leak management system
  • No maintenance costs
  • 24/7 protection in the event of a spill or leak
  • No mechanical or electrical control systems required

A unique design

SorbWeb Plus is a gravity-based subterranean system that surrounds oil-filled equipment with geosynthetic materials. The system effectively traps oil from catastrophic spills and leaks.

TEPS offers turnkey solutions for power substations from a technology leader: ABB. Their consistent history of technology innovation positions them as the substation partner to rely on.

Utilities, municipalities and industrial plants throughout the U.S. depend on ABB for major substation expansions, retrofit or greenfield.

TEPS sources solution providers like ABB because they offer a turnkey system: the design, engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of the substation and full lifecycle support if needed.

For markets like windpower, ABB offers pre-engineered solutions for collector and interconnect substations. They can also provide economic and reliability analysis between various substation or transmission designs.

TEPS recommends ABB because their turnkey substation will provide the lowest total cost, the shortest schedule and the lowest risk. See more at ABB.com >
